3 Places in Moscow You Need to Visit Before You Graduate

With graduation right around the corner, you may already be looking forward to new adventures to be had after school. But before you pack your bags and set your sights on new horizons, make sure you check out these three great sites right here in Moscow, Idaho. Only minutes away from your Identity Moscow home, each of these locations is a Moscow must-see.

University of Idaho Arboretum & Botanical Garden

This beautiful garden is located right next door to Identity Moscow on the University of Idaho campus and serves as an outdoor museum hosting an incredible variety of plant species. This sprawling array of plants spans 63 acres, which are organized into geographical groupings. Take a trip to Asia with some traditional Eastern species, or surround yourself with native European plants for a real change of scenery. The best part? The gardens are open year-round from dawn to dusk, and admission is completely free!

McConnell Mansion

If you’re a fan of architecture, you have to swing by the McConnell Mansion, a historic building located in downtown Moscow. Built in 1886, the mansion is the only building in the classic Eastlake style that has survived in Idaho. If you want a tour, be sure to call ahead – tours are only offered when scheduled in advance.

Appaloosa Museum & Heritage Center

For a truly classic Moscow experience, make sure you stop by the Appaloosa Museum and Heritage Center before you graduate. This museum is dedicated to the gorgeous Appaloosa horse, a stunning breed known for its spotted coat and gentle nature. The museum also has some wonderful exhibits on Nez Perce culture and their relationship with the Appaloosa.

Wherever you go, Identity Moscow will help you make your mark. For more Moscow sites, student life tips, and upcoming events, make sure to check out our other blog posts.
